The PIC Club PDF Print E-mail

The PIC Club is the current format of the Programming Special Interest Group of the Sydney PC User Group.

A PIC is a Programmable Interface Controller, or microcontroller. Many similar devices have become popular, such as PICaxe, Atmel, Arduino, ARM, and we are interested in them all.

We discuss programming, particularly microprocessor programming, and electronic project design.

The PIC Club meets in Sydney on the second Tuesday of each month.

Come and show your projects, or see some others. We have a computer with a projector and a webcam, so bring along your project, or pictures of it on floppy, CD, USB flash drive, mobile phone, digital camera, or laptop and we'll project it on a screen. We have a broadband internet connection, so discussion can be wide ranging. Everyone is welcome, and there is no fee for a first time visitor.

At the February meeting Lino showed pictures of some designs of PCB drilling and Pick & Place machines from the South Australian PIC User Group.
Alex showed Bluetooth wireless 2-way communication between a computer and his Fez Panda II board, using a virtual slide switch on the computer and a rotary switch on the Panda. He also showed how he connected his computer wirelessly to a thermometer inside a fridge, and with some C# programming, monitered and graphed the temperature.
Steve showed his completed electrolysis project, all boxed up and with operating instructions.
