The PIC Club is the current format of the Programming Special Interest Group of the Sydney PC User Group. A PIC is a Programmable Interface Controller, or microprocessor.
We discuss programming, particularly microprocessor programming, and project design. The PIC Club meets in Sydney on the second Tuesday of each month.
Come and show your projects, or see some others. We have a computer with a projector, so bring along pictures of your project on floppy, CD, or USB flash drive and we'll project it on a screen. We have a broadband internet connection, so discussion can be wide ranging. Anyone is welcome, and there is no fee for a first time visitor. |

At the February meeting Les talked about a computer-controlled milling machine he built from a kit, and showed a video of it cutting various holes in an instrument case. He also showed a low-voltage spotlight he made from an array of 28 white wide-angle LEDs controlled by an Atmel Tiny 45. Michael showed pictures of a machine he built for automatically making cups of tea, and discussed his problems programming a PIC to run it. Martin talked about the EZ430-Chronos watch available from Farnell. |
